Victoria,
Thank you for your webpage for Allen Tupper True. Are there any posters available of True’s “History of Water in the West” that is displayed in the Colorado State Capitol Building? If not is it possible to get a print or computer file.
thanks

Why are you interested in images of History of Water in the West? There are no posters.

Dear Victoria:
I am working on a cultural history of illustration for Princeton University Press which I will complete this summer. I would like to explore using a reproduction or two of Allen Tupper True’s, probably one or two panels from the story of water series. Do you have hi-res digital files of that series? If so would you be willing to share for publication? I can’t guarantee inclusion but I am very interested. Please let me know as you are able.
Best

Hello Victoria,
A bit of a blast from the past. Hope all is well and I presume you have retired from the hustle of the PR world. I have retired from consulting and I am in process of creating the True Catalog Raisonne’ in collaboration with Denver University. I would like to request permission to use the images from your book and of course your personal collection. Please advise. Also could you share Joan’s email and / or phone number. I ran into her son last year while giving a tour of the CO Nat. Bank – quite the coincidence. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Respectively
PS – heading to DC in November to deep-dive the archive.

Hello, Victoria–
At WyoHistory.org we are preparing history exhibits for the newly remodeled Wyoming Capitol, which as you know contains eight True murals from 1917. Would it be OK with you if we use an image of “Homesteaders,” from the House chamber? Wikipedia has a scan of this, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allen_Tupper_True#/media/File:WY_Homesteaders.jpg, but we’re hoping you could supply a higher-res version of this or one of the other True murals. The image would be included as part of electronic info about the expansion of the Capitol in 1917, when Allen True painted those murals. The overall exhibit includes both wall-panel exhibits and, in five or six kiosks around the building, electronic exhibits with lots more info about the Capitol and about Wyoming’s past.
Have a good holiday–I look forward to hearing from you. WyoHistory.org is a project of the Wyoming State Historical Society, a longstanding 501 c 3 non profit.
